Bio[]

A Cartoon Network classic character, Dexter is famously known as "The Boy Genius." The inventor of anything that can be created in a secret lab, Dexter is the "smart kid" that you would cheat off of in class. The series ran for 4 seasons and helped launch the careers of famous cartoon creators, such as; Craig McCracken and Seth Macfarlane.

In PTE, Dexter's use of high-tech gadgetry results in him having great range and powerful attacks.

Bio Stats[]

  • Speed: 3/5
  • Power: 4/5
  • Air: 2/5
  • Range: 4/5

Explanation[]

These stats are provided in the game in character bios. They do not affect gameplay at all and can sometimes be misleading or need an explanation.

  • Dexter has many speedy moves, but his stronger moves tend to be slower giving him an average speed.
    • In terms of running speed, Dexter is one of the fastest characters in the game, which should be 4/5 in that aspect.
  • Dexter's moves deal a great amount of damage power and knockback, having the third highest damage output average in the game disincluding super forms.
  • Dexter's up signature goes an average distance but is easy to edge guard. His side signature is a great horizontal recovery option as it grants invulnerability for a minuscule amount of time, in addition his horizontal recovery can be further aided with his down aerial which lets him "float" across. Dexter also has speedy aerial attacks with average damage. As a result, 4/5 would be a better reflection of air.
  • Dexter's various gadgets allow him to space out opponents easily. Masterful positioning may make Dexter nearly untouchable.

Punch Time Explosion: Dexo Robo 2000[]

Dexter clicks a remote and climbs in his robot suit. He aims the robot arm and fires a deadly tractor beam in front of him. Deals 40% and creates 4 power cubes.

This attack has a very wide vertical range, and a beam just the size of the main platform of final boss. This move has a notoriously large hitbox sitting behind the Dexo Robo 2000 as well. The strategy with landing this attack is to use it while the enemy is in air, mostly after a combo. You can make use of the PTE by hitting with just the robot as well. This move can kill as early as 50%~60% on Final Boss.

Synergy: Gazpacho[]

As Gazpacho throws out his pickles, Dexter shoots one making it turn red and explode. Then they will be repeating this for the synergy about four more times. Whenever Gazpacho throws a pickle Dexter shoots and makes it explode, hurting foes nearby for 32%, creating 4 power cubes.

Quotes[]

  • "I am, unstoppable!"
  • "Who wants some?"
  • "I am a genius!"
  • "An easy win for Dexter, boy genius!"
  • "Today is a fine day for a science!"
  • "Science, how could you abandon me?"

Trivia[]

  • Oddly, Dexter is the only character in the game who doesn't skid after running.
    • As a result the timing to cancel running into an attack is different from the rest of the roster. As other characters can easily crouch their skidding animation and do any inputs, Dexter may find himself at an awkward pause and any attacks or inputs will simply be skipped.
  • Oddly, Dexter's neutral aerial and down aerial seem to have been coded as signature attacks at one point as the sounds for these attacks are labeled as such. However, these attacks still have traces of being a signature attack as they are able to platform land cancel unlike other aerial attacks.
